  1. When I see the title of this book , I asked a question;
    Can the author write another book under this title:
    "Introduction to Webometrics: Quantitative Web Research for the science and technology".
    Cn you explain the purpose of the book's title?

  2. The reason for the subtitle is that I think that the methods in the book are most useful for social science researchers so I wanted to attract their attention. For example a chemist uses chemicals and does experiments so there is not much room for web research. In contrast, a psychologist, media studies person or politics researcher might well be interested in how their topic is reflected on the web. Of course there is a lot of chemistry on the web too, but I think that if you study how people write about chemistry on the web then you might well be an expert in Science & Technology Studies (a social science/humanities discipline) rather than a chemist.
    There are physicists and mathematicians and computer scientists that use similar techniques though, as part of network analysis. And I just hope that the title does not put them off the book!
    Best wishes,
    Mike
